Get Paid to Surf the Internet and Save Money on Christmas Presents

Search & Win

Swagbucks is quickly becoming my search engine of choice. The search results are decent and, for the most part relevant, but the main reason I use them is because I get paid to do something I already do on Google or Yahoo.

I am using my Swagbucks to purchase Christmas presents this year. In this economy, every dollar counts and this is an easy way to save money. Currently, I am saving up to get a $30 iTunes gift card. I only need a few more and I can then scratch another present off of my list.

Follow these easy steps to join:

1. Click on my banner and register (takes less than one minute)

2. Search like you would normally; and

3. When you search, you are randomly awarded digital dollars than go into your account. You can later redeem them for gift certificates, etc.

Additionally, you can build a network of users and earn every time they do. I know a few users who earn more from their network than they do from their personal searches. If you are looking for an easy way to save on your Christmas bill this year, I recommend that you join Swagbucks now.

Bukisa & eHow - A Few Ideas to Make Money Online

Bukisa and eHow - A Few Ideas to Make Money Online

In addition to writing for eHow, I have recently (as in tonight) joined Bukisa. I quickly put together an article so that I could compare it’s functionality to eHow’s. I must admit that I am impressed at just how easy it was to write an article for Bukisa. Over the past few months I have had a few ideas for articles that I could not get to fit into eHow’s rigid “How to” structure. For these articles, I posted them onto one of the various blogs that I own. Unless I receive a massive influx of traffic over the next 6 months, I do not really expect to generate much passive income from them.

I plan on using Bukisa in conjunction with eHow and ExperimentalBlogging. I like the fact that you can earn passive income in more than one way. In addition to earning income from ad clicks on your own content, you can earn income from page views of members that have joined from your Bukisa link. Additionally, you can link to some of your other relevant sites within your other published articles. These do-follow links should help increase the popularity and number of backlinks for some of your other work.

As I build my passive income stream, I plan on diversifying as much as possible. In the end, I have no idea which site will produce more income, but since my eHow experiment has just begun, I may include Bukisa in the mix.

If you are considering joining, please use my link and help me build my network. If not, consider subscribing and follow this experiment to its conclusion!

eHow experiment - passive income process refined

Based upon a comment I received from Maria, I have decided to add a few more rules to my eHow experiment.

As with any blog, creating backlinks is an essential ingredient to its success. When I make comments on other people’s blogs, I increase the chance of obtaining a small amount of free traffic. This is especially true if the comments I leave are relevant and add value to the original post. Currently experimentalblogging has a page rank of 1. As I continue to post (hopefully on a daily basis) and comment on other blogs, my page rank should increase slightly.

In order to maintain my ability to compare the results of this experiment, I have decided to implement two additional rules. Hopefully these additional rules will not make it too difficult. The last thing I want to do is create a reason for me to give up and not continue.

If I make a comment on someone’s blog (creating a backlink here) I will also post a comment on an eHow article. This eHow comment may, or may not, be on one of my eHow friends. My objective is to keep the natural promotion at approximately the same level.

Additionally, if I promote an article via some social networking site (digg, stumble, etc), I will also promote a post from one of my blogs. This should encourage me to create quality posts, since social network users will kill your article if it is poorly written.

What else should I consider? Do you see any flaws in my experiment so far? I would love to hear your feedback.

eHow experiment - New Passive Income Stream?

I started writing for eHow in early September. For those of you who do not know, eHow is a website where members can earn money from publishing “how to” articles. Basically, you do the work and eHow will share the revenue that is generated from your articles.

Many experienced internet marketers would rather drop dead than to share one penny of their hard-earned income with someone else. The argument has been made, that when you post articles on your own blog, you would earn more adsense revenue than you could by publishing these same articles on eHow. I would agree that this is true for most established sites.

The problem is that most newer sites, experimentalblogging included, do not generate the kind of traffic necessary to make any meaningful money. It takes months and months of writing just to earn the minimum amount needed for Google to actually pay you (if you ever reach that magical number). In this regard, I must disagree with my friend at OnlineDividends (awesome site by the way - you should check it out).

Additionally, writing for eHow has numerous benefits, as pointed out at Smart Passive Income. The writing interface is extremely easy to use, the articles are Google friendly, and I can write about anything that I want. If I have five minutes, and want to write about How to Become Debt Free, I can… And it only takes a few minutes. Once I have published the article, I never have to think about it again, if that is what I want to do. Personally, I try and do a small amount of linking to market my article.

How have I been doing?

My first month (September) I made an amazing $4.52. I realized that it was going to be harder than I thought so I bit the bullet a bought Maria’s book. I am glad that I did. I used the tips found within and made a few minor adjustments to my previous articles, and have subsequently written 15 new articles. In October, I earned $18.40 (quite a big jump if you ask me). So far in November I am on pace to make around $25.

I never really thought about trying to push myself and create new articles each day. I must say that I was fascinated with Pat’s attempt to create 5 new articles a day for an entire year. Too bad it now looks like he will be only doing that (on eHow) until the end of December; then he will join the rest of the more technologically capable internet marketers and will create his own niche site. It would have been amazing to watch someone else actually pull off such an amazing experiment.

In my attempt to develop additional passive income streams, I am going to try a little experiment of my own (Yes I know writing is NOT truly passive). I am going to write 1 article a day on eHow, and one article a day here. This experiment will start on November 18th, and will continue until May 18, 2009. After 6 months, I should be able to see a clear winner. Any articles that were written prior to tonight will be excluded from eHow’s totals. This should be fun and should encourage me to write more often. There is no penalty for skipping a day, but if I skip a day publishing on eHow, I will skip a day publishing here (and vice versa).

What do you think? Where will I earn more money and why (all things considered)? Can you think of any other rules I should implement?

Please consider subscribing and following along with my little eHow experiment.

Earn Extra Money Online by Writing Articles - A Proven Method

In these troubled times many people are searching for ways to earn extra money online. Most bloggers do some form of pay-per-post blogging, using sites such as ReviewMe, Smorty, or Pay Per Post.

The main problem with these types of sites is that your blog usually needs to be at least 90 days old to qualify for their programs. Once you do qualify, the opportunities you are given are usually pretty weak. Don’t get me wrong, you can earn some serious money writing for Pay Per Post, but you can also get banned from their site for absolutely no reason. See BloggerNoob’s story and see what I am talking about.

Even if you are accepted into one of these programs you will find that it can damage your page rank dramatically. In has been well documented that Google frowns upon paid posts and links.

So what can you do to earn some money online that will have no negative affects on your blog? What can you do to make money NOW, before your blog is 90 days old? You can write for eHow!

I started writing for eHow on 9/15/08. In that time, I wrote 10 extremely short articles about things that I like. As of October 1st, I actually earned almost $5. While that may not seem like a lot, I will most likely continue to make that same amount every month, from now on, without doing any extra work. Writing articles like this truly becomes a wonderful form of passive income (once the article is written and submitted).

As proud as I am of my earnings, I have found an incredible writer who makes $900 a month. And this only includes the amount of money she earns from eHow. Being the type of guy that I am, I immediately started wondering how in the world she created this amazing passive income stream. Luckily, she wrote an amazing eBook that teaches you how to re-perform her path to extra money online.

I have purchased the book and have begun to implement the strategies outlined within its pages and I have to admit, this book is an awesome resource. Don’t waste your time trying to figure it out on your own. She has made all the mistakes before! She knows what works, and what does not work. This eBook is worth a lot more than she is charging.

Do yourself a favor! Buy the eBook, write some articles, and earn extra money online.

Going on Vacation - Enter My First Contest

I am going on vacation for 13 days and will not have access to the internet during that time (most likely). I did not prepare well, and really do not have enough quality posts to leave on automatic. I will just have to suffer the consequences of reduced traffic.

I did want to remind everyone to enter my first blog contest.

Only 3 people have signed up so far, so your chances of winning are extremely good!
